GATES COUNTY NEWS -- New study shows Gates County government has expanded irresponsibly over the last decade. The study examines changes in county employees compared to the change in private sector jobs and population. Meanwhile, neighboring Bertie County trimmed its workforce by -19.4%, while its population grew by 331 residents over the decade.
